In the heart of Rowlett, Texas, a dated multi-tenant commercial retail center underwent a dramatic renovation. The remodel was designed to be budget-conscious and RoofScreen’s VisionGuard® Louvers were at the forefront of the new look.
Surrounded by retailers like Home Depot, ALDI and CVS, and dining options including Chick-fil-A, Starbucks and Blaze Pizza, the shopping center needed a modernized appearance to attract new tenants and customers.
Outdated Design and Exposed Rooftop Equipment
The existing exterior was dated, and rooftop equipment that was visible from ground level created a cluttered and uninviting look.
The building owners wanted to modernize the exterior while addressing functional concerns like equipment concealment, without taking on the cost or disruption of a major rebuild.
A Clean, Modern Upgrade
VisionGuard® Louvers offered a cost-effective and visually appealing solution. Their sleek, modern design enhanced the building’s appearance while helping the property meet local RTU screening requirements by blocking ground-level views of rooftop equipment.
The system required minimal framing, helping to keep costs down. Our louver trees, which support the louver blades, were mounted directly to two rows of steel girts attached to the exterior walls, streamlining installation and preserving a clean aesthetic.
Smart Design That Delivers Lasting Value
Paired with woodgrain siding, VisionGuard® Louvers helped redefine the building’s look and feel. The contrast between wood tones and the industrial look of the aluminum louvers struck a balance between natural and modern giving the structure a clean, updated look that complements nearby retail developments.
