The North Garland Public Library has recently undergone a full renovation, transforming from an understated and outdated outlet into a bold community landmark utilizing GeoMetal decorative metal panels.

Prior to this renovation, the library had not seen a major upgrade since the early 1980s. The recent transformation presents a fresh, modern look that seamlessly merges aesthetics with functionality, making the library a vibrant part of the community.

The bold pop of Saffron Yellow GeoMetal along the library’s roofline is one of the core elements of the renovation. The burst of color and intricate pattern, called “Ebb”, brings vibrance to the building. A matching bright yellow sign, designed to grab students’ attention from the adjacent high school, encourages them to explore the library’s wealth of resources.

In addition to providing an aesthetic solution, GeoMetal™ panels also serve a practical purpose by screening the library’s rooftop HVAC equipment from view. Measuring 9 x 5 feet and made of 1/4-inch aluminum, the panels fabricated for this project seamlessly attach our RoofScreen SC3 Framing for a clean, continuous look that will stand the test of time.

GeoMetal™ panels come in many standard sizes and patterns with varying open areas and can also be fully customized based on project-specific needs.

The Ebb pattern used for this project introduces a sense of movement and flow to the building’s façade. The pattern’s continuous, multi-panel design adds texture and dimension to the building, making the library a standout feature of the area.

GeoMetal™ is available in nearly limitless colorways in both AAMA 2605 and 2604 finishes. The Saffron Yellow finish selected for this project is an AAMA 2605 powder coating. This high-quality finish not only provides vibrant color, but also superior durability and comes backed by a 20-year warranty. Powders adhering to the AAMA 2605 standard are known for excellent resistance to weathering, fading, and chalking, ensuring that the library’s fresh look will withstand the intense Texas sun.

The architectural vision behind the project was developed by DSGN Associates, who aimed to create a space that would be bold, inviting and functional. Working alongside the project contractors, TriArc Construction, was a breeze and their on-site communication was paramount in ensuring things went smoothly with design.

As the North Garland Library continues to serve the public, its new look showcases how thoughtful design and the right materials can reshape community spaces. The transformation brought about by GeoMetal™ is a testament to how architectural innovation can enhance public areas for generations to come.

If you’re ever in the area, stop by, check it out, and see how GeoMetal panels can give a building a whole new vibe!
